The Project
Our contract was to carry out the external redecoration of all four elevations of The Den. Set in a beautiful location on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, the building is used as indoor accommodation by the East Yorkshire Girl Guides at Guideacres.

All organic growth on the walls was fully removed using a quality fungicide wash.
Care was taken to ensure any bare timbers were then primed with Sadolin Classic. This was then followed by a further two coats of the darker Sadolin Extra wood stain.
The stain brought the tone of the softwood shiplap cladding down, giving the building a much darker façade which matched the adjacent buildings and made its appearance far more subtle amongst the surrounding woodland.
