Our History
We are a fourth-generation, family-owned business with our roots firmly in the city of Hull and a great reputation that stretches far and wide.
The business was founded in 1918 by Charlie Pittaway, who started on his own with next to nothing except a tremendous will to succeed.
His son James joined the business in the 1940s, followed by his grandson Melvyn in the 1960s and his great grandson and current Managing Director Graeme in the 1990s.
We’ve come a long way since 1914. We think Charlie would be very proud!
