Project description

The project involved the painting of all aspects of the pedestrian footbridge at Brough . Needless to say, safety parameters were set extremely high, with our staff having to accommodate both the public and train staff, alongside the punishing train timetable which resulted in painting sections over the track on a “night shift” basis to not interfere with the operations of Network Rail. Substantial elements of the work had to be carried out on cherry pickers and scaffold towers to comply with safety regulations.

Specification

The Sigma paints specification was used to enable the client to have a 15 year maintenance life cycle on the finished product. Regular tests were taken by the manufacturer’s representative and humidity/temperature and dew point checks were taken every 3 hours to ensure compliance.
